Wendell “Wren” Worley Jr., 48, of Lakemont, passed away Aug. 21, 2016, peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born Jan. 12, 1968, the son of the late Wendell Worley Sr. and Sharrol (Watts) Worley.
He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Worley of 25 years; one son Andrew Worley, two daughters Leah and Hannah Worley, one grandson Gunner Worley, his favorite aunt and uncle Jim and Wanda Marsengill, and one sister Lesley Queen.
Wren was a loving father who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dog Buck, Jim, daughter Leah, son Andrew and anyone who wanted to tag along. He devoted his life to the Lord and worked in the ministry for more than 20 years. He was pastor of the Mountain City Church of God for 12 years.
The family received friends Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Beck Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m., with funeral services following at 6 p.m. in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tray Brown officiating. Preacher Don Moffitt officiated the graveside service, which followed in the D.D. Taylor Cemetery located in Lakemont on Worley Creek Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485, Rabun Gap, Georgia 30568 in loving memory of Wren Worley.
