Susanne Suber Poole

Susanne Suber Poole, 70, of Clayton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 25, 2017.

She was born Aug. 29, 1946, the daughter of the late Frank Dupree and Irene Wynn Suber. In addition to her parents, her husband Charles Monroe Poole preceded her in death.

Susanne and Charlie acquired the Anchorage Boat Dock business in 1967. Immediately, Susanne fell in love with Lake Burton. She loved the busy seasons and the many wonderful people that were not only customers, but friends as well.

Susanne had a knack for decorating and a love for music and art. She was an avid reader of all types of books. She loved animals, especially cats. And she had a passion for NASCAR. She was a wonderful cook who fed many. She taught Sunday School at Clayton United Methodist. Susanne loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, business-owner and friend to many. We will all miss her dearly.

She is survived by her two children, Seth (Nikki) Poole, of Clayton, Allison Poole (Arjuna Echols), of Clayton; one brother, Frank Suber of Chester, South Carolina; one sister, Cindy Mckenzie of Concord, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Harrison Sumlin, Emma Poole, Samuel Poole and Gage Webb.

The family received friends Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton.

A private family memorial service was held.
