Catherine Phillips Weaver, 78, of Lakemont, widow of Jessie Joe Weaver, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at her home.
Catherine was born in Rabun County on Jan. 7, 1939. She is the daughter of the late Charlie and Essie Dodgins Phillips. Catherine was a homemaker and a member of the Black Rock Baptist Church. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Joe Weaver, by her parents, Charlie and Essie Phillips, by a brother, James Phillips, by a sister, Ruth Gragg, and by a special friend, Roy Tench about three years ago.
She is survived by a son, Curtis Weaver (Joan) of Clarkesville, two daughters, Frances Elaine Weaver McCall of Otto, North Carolina, and Audrey Lynn Weaver Penland of Lakemont. Three grandchildren, Joey Pen Iand; Bryan Weaver and Cole Weaver, and two great-grandchildren, Bryliegh Rose Weaver and Bristol Grace Weaver, also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at the Lakemont Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jewel Gaines and the Rev. Austin Kelly officiating. Burial was held at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, Georgia.
The body was at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, where visitation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. The family was at the home on West Wolf Creek Road in Lakemont.
