Mary Helen Ramey Blalock, age 93, of the Kelly's Creek Community, Route 1, Rabun Gap, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at The Oaks Nursing Home, Baldwin, Habersham County, Ga.
Born in Wiley, Ga., Aug. 30, 1925, she was married to the late William H. Blalock, Sr. (Bill) and together they operated Blalock Meat Processing Corporation. She was a graduate of Rabun County High School and attended classes at Ga. State College for Women (GSCW) and Piedmont College.
Surviving are: sons William H. (Bill) Blalock, Jr. and wife Diane of Gainesville; Robert H. (Bob) Blalock and wife Beth of Clayton; grandsons William H. Blalock, III and wife Donna of Gainesville; Patrick B. Blalock and wife Heather of Biltmore Lake, N.C.; granddaughters Allison Baker and husband Jeff of Forsyth County; Ashley Blalock of Fletcher, N.C.; Julia Lewis and husband Julian of Savannah and great grandchildren; William H. (Liam) Blalock IV; Hudson Baker, Jameson Baker, Mary Blair Blalock, Charlotte Blalock; Allen Lewis, Robert Lewis and Reynolds Lewis.
She was the daughter of the late Judge R. C. and Stella P. Ramey and was predeceased by her brothers Wiley P. Ramey and Sam C. Ramey and her sisters, Catherine Ramey, Francis Ramey and Elizabeth Snyder.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton on Friday, July 5, to be followed by a family graveside service at the cemetery of the Head of the Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the church or the non-profit charity "Faith".
