Bernice A. Owensby-Clowers

Bernice A. Owensby-Clowers, at the age of 98 years of Cannon Wood Village in Tiger, Ga., went to be with Jesus on Saturday,May 4, 2019.

Bernice was born on a farm in Elbert County, Georgia to Willaim Lathier Aycock and Myrtle Welborn Aycock, Nov. 8, 1920.

She worked in Dispersing at Fort McPherson in Atlanta as Finance Officer for 20 plus years.

She is preceded in death by parents, William Lathier and Myrtle Welborn Aycock, daughter, Bonnie Karen Montgomery, husband, Robert Jackson Owensby, husband, Robert Clowers, two sisters, and three brothers.

She is survived by daughter, Gail Owensby Lee and husband, A. Gene Lee of Clayton, Ga., grandsons, Justin Lee (Ashley) of Augusta, Ga., Dan Foust (Laurel) of Locust Grove, Ga., Steven Jay Foust (Dawn) of Forsyth, Ga., Timothy Foust of Milner, Ga., granddaughters, Gina Lee Fulghum (Chuck) of Forest Park, Ga., Jodie Lee Bazemore (Reid) of Covington, Ga., 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, one niece, and five nephews.

She had many hobbies such as gardening, dulcimer, piano, violin, bird watching, and visiting gravesites of her ancestors.

She was a woman of strong faith and a great servant of God, known for her kind and compassionate spirit. Life-long member of First Baptist Church of Forest Park, Ga.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Cannon Wood Village for their attentiveness and loving care.

Celebration of Life will be held at Cannon Wood Village, May 18, at 2 p.m. Graveside service will be held May 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, Ga.
