Judith Adelman Caplano, 92, passed the morning of April 25, 2019 and, within a few days, Richard Robert Caplano, Sr., 90, passed on April 30, 2019. They both passed in their home in Clayton, Ga. with family present. Their family will be holding a small, private service in Tate City at Valley Community Church at a later date. Their ashes will be spread with their beloved dog, Lilo, who passed last year.
Richard and Judith were married on March 29, 1969 in Miami, Fla. Judith was a homemaker who volunteered thousands of hours at local hospitals in whichever area they were living at the time. Richard spent his career in law enforcement, retiring as Beverage Captain for the state of Florida’s division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco.
The couple moved to Jacksonville, Fla. when Richard was promoted to Captain and remained there until he retired. Upon retiring, they moved to Tate City, Ga. where Richard built his first home. Richard and Judith were integral members of Valley Community Church, playing a big part in re-building the church. The couple later moved to Burnsville, NC where Richard built his second home and Judith was awarded Volunteer of the Year by Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. The couple moved to Clayton about 5 years ago to be closer to family.
They are survived by their loving children, Geri and Rick, and their grandchildren, Klarika, Jonathan, and Ricky.
