Nannie Mildred Bleckley, 92, of Dillard, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 15, 2017.
She was the daughter of the late Edwin H. Bleckley and the late Nannie Mildred Wood Bleckley.
Mildred lived in Perry until her retirement when she moved back to Dillard, where she attended the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church and loved the Lord. She also loved her family, always enjoying time spent with her nieces and nephews. She was a beloved aunt to them, and she loved to travel. Everyone who knew her knew that she lived life to the fullest and that she was proud to be a strong independent woman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, two brothers, William P. Bleckley and Edwin Bleckley Jr.; her sister, ChloeBel Bleckley Beatty; two nephews, Charles Douglas Bleckley and Hugh Beatty Jr.
Her survivors include her sister-in-law, Liz Bleckley Warren; her nephew, James Beatty (Christine); her niece, Nancy Hilderbrand (David); great-nieces and nephews, as well as a host of great great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A private family graveside funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald Grizzle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation in Mildred’s honor to the church or charity of your choice.
