Mrs. Ruth Irene Duckett Watts, 79, of 47 Dovie Lane, Lakemont, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at her residence.
A daughter of the late Henry and Mary Etta Smith Duckett, she was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Pickens County, South Carolina, having lived in Toccoa for some 22 years and in Rabun County for a long number of years. She attended Taylor Chapel in Mountain City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Watts.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Evans of Lakemont; grandchildren, Jerri Barnes, Michelle Kersey, Billy Hart and Jason Hart; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Cheek of Aiken, South Carolina; five nieces, and one special niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home, with The Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Billy Hart, Jason Hart, Nathan Hart, Ervin Carpenter, Donnie Carpenter and Doug Thacker.
