Lynda Jane Emory Hunter, 67, of Clayton, passed away July 5, 2017, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late George Samuel Emory and Lucille Pearl Smitherman.
Lynda was known for her love of her family and was a loving mother, wife and sister. She was a faithful Christian and was a member of the Battle Branch Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, George Malcolm Emory and Allen Marshall Emory, preceded her in death.
Her survivors include her husband of 26 years, Bobby Hunter of Tiger; one step-son, Robbie Hunter of Clayton; one daughter, Lexie Hunter of Tiger; one step-daughter, Sherrie Lawrence of Clayton; six brothers, William Howard Emory, Jimmy Richard Emory, Robert Alton Emory, Samuel Stephen Emory, Donald Kelly Emory and Stewart Douglas Emory; and two sisters, Nancy Carol Khoury and Suzanne Gail Bryans.
The family received friends Friday, July 7, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home from Clayton.
A funeral service was held Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Beck Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jimmy Hunter and Madison McCrackin officiating.
Interment followed the service at Rabun Memory Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Lynda’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Suite 114, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
