Carolyn Hill Thompson, 83, of Warwoman Road, Clayton, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at her home.
Born in Habersham County on March 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Bertha Dixon Hill. Carolyn was a bookkeeper at Reeves Hardware (retired) and was an active member of Clayton Baptist Church and the Ideal Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Thompson, her parents, Jay and Bertha Dixon Hill and by brothers, Reeves Hill, Boots Hill and Charles Hill.
She is survived by sisters Doris Ledbetter, Lois Walls, Margaret Batson, Ruth Goss, Peggy Burke and Jan Barnette. Many nephews and nieces also survive. Loving caregivers, Corine Wilkerson, Lisa Worley and Allene Mitchell, are special to her family.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joey Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Rabun Memory Park Tiger.
Visitation was Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 3-5 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family was at their respective residences.
Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in her memory, to Clayton Baptist Church, 87 South Church St., Clayton, Georgia 30525.
