Mrs. Bernice Queen Kovacic, 90, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at her home.
Born April 29, 1926, in Clayton, she was a daughter of the late Cecil Augustus and Bertha Moore Queen.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School Class and a children’s Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Kovacic was very strong in her faith. She enjoyed water aerobics at the Senior Center and she was retired from Coats and Clark.
Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and George Allen and Becky and David Hooper, all of Toccoa; grandchildren, Matt Allen and Michelle, Marty Allen and Mandi, Donna Caudell and Tim, Andrea Orr and Stephen, Nikki Pressley and David, and Jodi Hooper; great-grandchildren, Tatum and Will Allen, Luke Burns, Carter Allen, Kylie and Blake Caudell, Meredith, Betsy and June Orr, and Lana and Danica Pressley; sisters, Ruth Smith of Toccoa and Irene Dockins of Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rocco Joseph “Joe” Kovacic; and her brother Ralph Queen.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary, with the Rev. Jerry Stowe officiating.
Burial followed at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
The following served as pallbearers: Blake Caudell, Tim Caudell, David Pressley, Stephen Orr, Matthew Allen and Marty Allen.
The family received friends at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday.
Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the church or charity of one’s choice.
