Maud Miller Halford Harrelson, 80, of Tiger, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
She was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Hartsville, South Carolina, and was the daughter of the late James Clyde Halford and Maud Miller Halford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several half brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Harrelson is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James “Rich” Harrelson; one son, J.R. Harrelson Jr. (Carla); one daughter, Debra Ann Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Clint Yonce, Jeremy Kilpatrick, Kyle Kilpatrick, Brittany Harrelson, Ashley Berryhill and Chelsey Berryhill; and great-grandchildren, Aliah Yonce, Joshua Yonce, Serafina Kilpatrick, Kaileia Harrelson, Robbie Smith, Raya Smith, Jackson Light and Landon Berryhill.
She attended Winthrop and Coker colleges and worked for American Movie Classics, Marcoin Business Systems and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She volunteered for the Prison Ministry and taught typing at DeKalb County Detention Center. She was a Methodist Church Youth Group leader, fifth-grade Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout troop leader and Community Care helper.
Mrs. Harrelson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a friend to all who knew her.
Mrs. Harrelson attended St. James Episcopal Church in Clayton, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, with Father Steve Hall officiating.
