Mary “Jean” Boss, 82, of Hill Camp Lane, Clayton, died Monday night, Dec. 12, 2016, at her home.
She was born Jan. 24, 1934, in Lawrenceville, the daughter of the late Vernon and Georgia Stonecypher Roebuck. She had lived in Rabun County for the past 37 years. Mary was the wife of Fred E. Boss for the past 68 years. She was a waitress in the restaurant business and was of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Greg, Rick and Perry Boss and by a brother, Levi Roebuck.
She is survived by her husband, of 68 years, Fred Boss of the home, by daughters, Debbie Johnson (Mike) of Valdosta, Melissa Duran of Alto, special members of the family, granddaughter, Ashley Caputo (Warren) of Braselton, and grandson, Brad Barrett, her caregiver. One brother, William Roebuck of California, four other grandchildren, Kelli Taylor, Shannon Taylor, Greg Hunter and Jennifer Boss, and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, conducted by Michael Boss.
Visitation was at the funeral home Thursday evening, Dec. 15, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. The family was at the home on Hill Camp Lane, Clayton.
