Douglas Foster

Douglas Foster, 73, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1943, the son of the late Ira Frank and Blonie Lee Forester Foster. 

He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Paul Foster, Sam Foster, Robert Foster, Ray Foster, Jack Foster, and Andy Foster and two sisters, Peggy Ramey and Velma Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Foster of the home. One son, Rick (Rebecca) Foster of Smithfield, Virginia; one daughter, Tammy (Thomas) Ivester of Clayton.; two brothers, Lester Foster of Rabun Gap and Donald Foster of Toccoa; and his three grandchildren, Josh Foster, Bartly Ivester and Jacob Ivester also survive.

Doug was a member of Tiger Baptist Church. He loved his family and his church; he worked at A.I.D. for many years and was a lifelong resident of Rabun County.

The family received friends on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Tim Hunnicutt and Avery Lawrence officiating. Interment service followed in the Harvey Cemetery, with the Rev. David Crunkelton officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Rabun County Gideons, P.O. Box 241, Clayton, Georgia 30525.

Doris Wilma Bleckley

Doris Wilma Bleckley, 91, of Clayton and Orlando, Florida, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, in Orlando.

Funeral services are Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Clayton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dave Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Clayton Cemetery.

Doris was born March 3, 1925, to Thomas Cleon Bleckley and Maude James. She was an education graduate from Mercer College, a high school teacher and coach. During her career, she was dean of students.

Doris was preceded in death by brother, Tom Bleckley, and sister, Frances Bleckley. 

Doris is survived by her cousin, Dr. Jim Bleckley (Nancy) of Anderson, South Carolina, nephew, Thomas Cole Bleckley (Ginny) of Greenwood, South Carolina, and their children, Allison of El Paso, Texas, and Mark Bleckley of Abbeville, South Carolina, nephew, Paul William Bleckley of Richmond, Virginia, and David Bleckley of Brevard, North Carolina, and niece, Deborah Bleckley Dickey (Jerry) of St. Augustine, Florida. She is also survived by the Walker family children, Becky Walker Henry and her husband, Kevin, and daughters, Katelin and Aubrey of Maitland, Florida, Robert Coleman Walker and his children, Rob, Michele and Logan, of Orlando, Margaret A. “Pegi” Walker of San Francisco, California, and Kathe Walker Gowland and her husband, Michael, and their children, Sarah, Stephen and Sam, of Lilburn.

Memorials may be made to the Doris W and Frances M Bleckley Endowed Scholarship Fund at Mercer University Advancement Office, 1501 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia 31207.

James Harrison Ramey

James Harrison Ramey, 75, passed away Sept. 20, 2016. 

He was born May 6, 1941, the son of the late Isaac Harrison “Dock” Ramey and Willie Mae Taylor Ramey.

He is survived by his son, Jeff Smith (Deborah) of Lawrenceville, brother, Bobby K. Ramey (Gail) of Clayton, two sisters, Burma Ramey of Clayton, and Amanda R. Smith (Mark) of Clayton. Two grandchildren, Michael Smith (Nicole) and Sharron Smith Casstevens (Brandal), one niece and several nephews also survive.

Harrison worked for Steel Inc. and retired after 35 years. After his retirement, he worked at Clayton Welding. He loved Louis L’Amour books and watching Westerns. In his younger days, he raised cattle. He loved his family and enjoyed people and was a member at Grace Bible Church.

The family received friends Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Beck Funeral from noon-2 p.m. Funeral services for James were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Hurt and Doyle Patterson officiating. Interment followed in Rabun Memory Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to Grace Bible Church, 235 Dotson St., Mountain City, Georgia 30562.

Ray Bradshaw

Ray Bradshaw, 80, of Hiawassee, passed away Oct. 1, 2016.

Ray was the son of the late Cuba Nelson Bradshaw and Inez Nichols Bradshaw. Ray was a son, father, grandfather, uncle and brother; he loved his family very much. He had many professions during his life. He was a truck driver, diesel mechanic, bus driver and much more. He always worked hard to provide for his family.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife, Reba Mae Garrett Bradshaw; six brothers, Nelson C. Bradshaw, Dennie Bradshaw, Hubert Bradshaw, Chester Bradshaw, Fred Bradshaw and Paul Bradshaw; two nieces and three nephews.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel Ell Bradshaw of Young Harris, Gary Ray Bradshaw of Westminster, South Carolina; one daughter, Debra Juanita Kundolf of Westminster, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Brandon Bradshaw, Amanda Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Colby Price, Brandi Bradshaw: five sisters, Kathleen Bradshaw Anderson of Hiawassee, Dorothy Guffie of Gastonia, North Carolina, Fannie Fuller Anderson of Hiawassee, Betty Fuller Redmond, Warne, North Carolina, Carolyn Fuller Rowland of Hiawassee. Three brothers, Clyde Fuller of Young Harris, George Fuller of Hayesville, North Carolina, Melvin Fuller of Lawrenceville and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family received friends Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with the Revs. Teddy King and Alvin Burdette officiating. Burial followed in the Persimmon Community Cemetery.       

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to Beck Funeral Home, 898 Highway 441 South, Clayton, Georgia 30525, to help with the funeral and other expenses.

‘Irma’ Jean Campbell Calef

“Irma” Jean Campbell Calef passed away peacefully the morning of Sept. 29, 2016.

Jean was born Nov. 5, 1927, to Lyle and Irma Campbell in Norman, Oklahoma, and was raised in Atlanta.

She attended Wesleyan College in Macon, receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. Her graduate work was done at the University of Illinois, University of Michigan, and Michigan State University with a master’s degree concentration in education. Her teaching career included Joliet High School and Junior College, University of Illinois, and schools within the Ann Arbor and Essexville, Michigan, school districts.

Jean moved to Flint, Michigan, with her family in 1966. She taught at Flint Southwestern, where she also began her career in high school counseling. She then went to Flint Central High School, where she served as assistant principal/head of counseling for 20 years. She retired in 1992, moving soon thereafter to scenic Rabun County.

Throughout her life Jean was active with several organizations and as a volunteer. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Mott College Women’s Club, Phi Delta Kappa, Congress of School Administrators, National Association for Counseling and Development, Business and Education Coordinating Council, Executive Board of Big Sisters and Bay Valley Hospice. Her dedicated volunteer work included Saint Joseph Hospital, Genesys Hospital, Docent at The Flint Institute of Arts, and Hospice.

In Rabun County, she was a volunteer at Tallulah Gorge State Park, Chamber of Commerce and Rabun County Library. Jean was a naturalist, a voracious reader and an experienced traveler. She was enthusiastic about the sciences and arts alike.

Jean Calef was a tremendous listener, a steady shoulder, an inspiration to many, and an exceptionally generous, strong, intelligent, fun, wise and witty woman.

Surviving are daughter Kathryn T. Calef of Los Angeles, California, son Robert C. Calef of Tawas City, Michigan, sister Margaret C. Cowan of Atlanta, and good friend and caregiver Barbara McKinley of Sky Valley.

Memorials may go to The Rabun County Library.

Rev. Reginald R. Gunn

The Rev. Reginald R. Gunn, 75, of Tiger, died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016.

He was born in Tifton to Helen and John S. Gunn, both deceased.

Reginald graduated from the University of Georgia, and Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.

Reginald served in parishes in Cochran, Douglas, Albany, Savannah and Americus and in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He was a member of the Rotary Club in Americus. Reginald was a member of the Clan Gunn Society of North America.

Reginald is survived by his wife Mary Luise A. Gunn of the home, his son, Richard S. Gunn of Alabel, his daughter, Heather G. Haskell (Glenn) of Garden City, one brother, Martin S. Gunn (Josephine) of Alexandria, and three grandchildren, Justin Gunn, Shelby Gunn and Ashley Walker.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the St. James Episcopal Church of Clayton. Another memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus. The date and time will be announced at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his honor, to St. James Episcopal Church Clayton. The Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund or the Kids Backpack Program.

Lorene McKay Jones, 90, of Clayton, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville. She was the widow of Ira Dean Jones.

Born in Lakemont on June 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Berlie Smith McKay. She was a Creel Leader for Burlington, a former member of Mt. City Homemakers Club and a member of the Wiley Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death besides her husband, Ira Jones, and by her parents, by one brother, Charles McKay.

She is survived by two sons, Marshall Jones (Meritta) of Lakemont, and Eddie Jones (Linda) of Tiger. Two daughters, Brenda Jones of Clayton, and Sheryl Irwin of Martinez, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral services were at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jewell Gaines and Layman Lloyd Hunter. Burial will follow in the Tiger Cemetery, Tiger.

The body was at Hunter Funeral Home, where family received friends Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. The family was at home on Hillside Drive, Clayton.

Steve Aaron Borders

Steve Aaron Borders, 69, of Lakemont, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at his home. 

He was the son of the late Ernest and Ruth Rogers Borders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Borders of Newnan.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Porter Borders of the home, one daughter, Christy Bernhard of Newnan, and two stepsons, Sean Capes (Kathy) and Ron Capes (Laura).  Also surviving are nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, who is due in March 2017.

Steve was a Navy veteran and worked as a distribution manager for Eckerd’s. He was of the Baptist faith.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Jene Allen Horne

Jene Allen Horne, 89, of Lakemont, passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.  

He was born March 31, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Lance O. and Beatrice Kizer Horne. 

He graduated from Deland High School, worked in auto repair, and had innumerable talents, interests and hobbies including beekeeping, gardening and woodworking. He was a member of Glendale Community Church, Jacksonville and Lakemont Baptist Church, and served as a deacon at both. 

He is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend to many. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Keith, a son, Steve (Cathy), a daughter-in-law, Kendra, a sister, Shirley (Fred), 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Lance, and two sisters Joy Clark and Lorna Floyd.

Mr. Horne was in state at Beck Funeral Home until Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, from noon-5 p.m. and from 1-2:00 p.m. Oct. 12, 2016, at Lakemont Baptist Church.

Services were held at Lakemont Baptist Church on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m., with interment at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville, on Saturday, Oct. 15t, at 3 p.m. 

The family requests that flowers be omitted and donations be made to Lakemont Baptist Church or a charity of your choice in memory of Jene Horne.

Emily Norton

Emily Norton, a resident of Buford, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016. 

She grew up in Tallulah Falls, where she attended Tallulah Falls School. She graduated there and continued her education at Wesleyan College in Macon, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in three years with a major in history and a minor in religion. 

Having also studied piano at Wesleyan, she later taught music at Tallulah Falls School. After teaching one year in Griffin, she spent the remainder of her teaching career at Decatur High School in Decatur, where she taught American history and political science. 

She became chair of the Social Science Department, and, while teaching, earned a master’s degree in Political Science at Emory University, with honors in her field. 

Emily retired early to give almost 20 years of home care to her bedridden mother, Myrtle (wife of Ernest Norton), here in Clayton. Before moving to Buford, she lived on Lake Lanier and spent many happy years there. 

There are no immediate survivors. 

A viewing will be Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home, 4400 S. Lee St., Buford, which will be followed by a graveside service at Broadlawn Memorial Garden, 5979 New Bethany Rd., Buford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church of her youth — Tallulah Falls United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 25, Tallulah Falls, Georgia 30573.

James Andrew Stephens

James Andrew Stephens, 73, of Sidetrack Lane, Tiger, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at his home. 

Born in Rabun County on March 13, 1943, he was the son of the late John Hines Stephens and Mary Catherine Watts Stephens. He was the husband of Lurlene Wilbanks Stephens of the home. 

Mr. Stephens was a retired insulator with National Asbesto’s Worker Co. He belongs to his 48 National Asbesto’s Union and was a member of the Joy Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Hines Stephens., and by a great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Lurlene Wilbanks Stephens, of the home, by two daughters, Janice Pruitt (Robert) of Tiger, Tammy Fowler (Doug) of Winder, five grandchildren, Anthony Patterson, Elizabeth Pruitt, Gregory Pruitt, Kimberly Pruitt and Charlie Mayfield. Eleven great-grandchildren also survive. 

Funeral services were at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, conducted by the Rev. Richard Dugas. Burial was in the Wiley Presbyterian Cemetery. 

The body was at Hunter Funeral Home, where visitation was in the Eastside Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. The family was at home on Sidetrack Lane, Tiger.

Glenn Edward Hopper

Glenn Edward Hopper, 93, of the Wolffork Community, passed away at his residence on Wednesday evening, Oct. 12, 2016.  

He was born Aug. 8, 1923, in Rabun County, and was the son of the late Lester N. Hopper and Annie Pendergrass Hopper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hilda M. Mitchell Hopper; two brothers, Aaron Hopper, Keith Hopper; three sisters, Mildred Calhoun, Louise Enloe, and Naomi Meyer.

He is survived by two sons, Elmer Hopper (Gayle) of Braselton, Rocky Hopper (Elizabeth) of Rabun Gap, and one daughter, Charlyne Dailey of Rabun Gap. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

He served his country in the Merchant Marines and was a self employed heavy machine operator. He was a member of Wolffork Baptist Church for 84 years. He enjoyed farming, fishing and rabbit and fox hunting. He was a proud Georgia Bulldog fan.

The family received friends at Wolffork Baptist Church on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, from 3-4 p.m. Funeral services were held following visitation at 4 p.m. at Wolffork Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Greer officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

James Andrew Stephens, 73, of the Tiger community, passed away at his residence Tuesday, Oct. 4.

He was born March 13, 1943, in Rabun County, and was the son of the late John Hines Stephens and Catherine Watts Stephens. He was the husband of Lurlene Wilbanks Stephens of the home. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his wife, and two daughters, Janice Pruitt (Robert) of Tiger and Tammy Fowler (Doug) of Winder. Five grandchildren, Anthony Patterson, Elizabeth Pruitt, Gregory Pruitt, Kimberly Pruitt and Charlie Mayfield, and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. 

He is preceded in death by an infant brother, John Hines Stephens, and by a great-grandson.

Lamar Hardman Alley Sr.

Lamar Hardman Alley Sr., 90, of Lakemont, passed away Oct. 23, 2016, with his family at his side. 

Lamar was a lifelong resident of Lakemont; he was born in the home above Alley’s Grocery. 

Lamar was the son of the late Paul Alley and Sarah Gipson Alley. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He then joined the Army Reserves and served 27 years before his retirement. 

Lamar worked at Alley’s Grocery most of his life, at first working with his father. In the early 1960s, Lamar became the owner of the store and operated it until 2008 when he retired. He was a member and Deacon of Lakemont Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Alley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Alley; two sons, Lamar Alley Jr. (Linette), Bartley Alley (Kim), all of Lakemont; one daughter, Kay Wilkerson (Ronald) of Wiley; one sister, Mildred Tice of Clayton,; five grandchildren, Michael Alley, Liana Welborn, Melissa Scruggs, Melinda Lowe and Blake Alley and seven great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Beck Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral was held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Lakemont Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jewell Gaines officiating. The burial followed in the Joy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Henry Michael ‘Mike’ Clark

Henry Michael “Mike” Clark, 68, of Lakemont, passed away Oct. 17, 2016, peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born Nov. 13, 1947, the son of the late Edmund Henry and Dorothy Pauline Clark.

Mike was a past Master of Rabun Gap Lodge 265 in Clayton, member of The York Rite, Scottish Rite and a Shiner. He was past Commander of American Legion Post 220 and Past Patron of Rabun Chapter 164 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a Master Electrician and a member of IBEW electrical union. He loved to hunt, fish and just enjoyed the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, “Sonny” Edmund Henry Clark Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Jiles Clark of the home; two daughters, Dottie Clark, and April Clark; two brothers, Charles Mack Clark (Edith), Samuel Wayne Clark; two sisters, Bobbie Clark Darnell, Katrina Clark Williams (Doyle); one grandson, Noah Michael Garrett, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family received friends at Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at the Persimmon Church of God, with Pastor Teddy King and the Rev. Avery Lawrence officiating.

Interment will follow in the Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery with Masonic Rights, 21 gun salute provided by the American Legion, and flag presentation by the Boy Scouts.

Harold Eugene “Buddy” Ford, 68, of the Tiger community, passed away in Mountain Lakes Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

He was born June 17, 1948, in Duluth to the late Donald D. Ford and Ramesia West Ford. He was self-employed in the woodworking industry, creating furniture plus works of art. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist Faith. 

Buddy is survived by a special companion, Robin Garland, of the home, one son, Patrick Ford (Hannah) of Statesboro, one daughter, Rebekah Folsom (Andy) of St. Louis, Missouri, and five grandchildren, Avery, Kearah, Maisie, Cora and Caitlin. 

Funeral services were held at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m., with the Revs. Buddy McKay and Ken Franklin conducting the service. Burial followed at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. 

The family received friends Sunday, Oct. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family was at home on Bethel Road, Tiger. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made, in his memory, to the American Legion Post 220 of Clayton, P.O. Box 403.

Thomas ‘Jerry’ Green

Thomas “Jerry” Green, 70, of the Tiger community, passed away at his residence Friday, Oct. 14. He was the husband of Felicia Brigman Green of the home. 

He was born on June 10, 1946, in Macon County, North Carolina, to the late Andy Franklin Green and Hattie May-Bell Brown Green. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ashley Tillman of Greenville, South Carolina, and six grandchildren, Leanna Owen, Lacey Tillman, Kora Owen, David Owen, Alexander Owen and Adam Brofford. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas Andrew Brown and Delliah Brown Owens, his paternal grandparents, Judson Green and Ruth Watkins, four brothers, Frank Green, Furman Green, Norman Green and Claude Green, and one sister, Bonnie Green. 

He worked for the Water Maintenance Department for the City of Clayton and was a member of the Old Suwanee Baptist Church for more than 50 years. 

A memorial service was held Thursday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Miller conducting the service. 

The family received friends at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 1-2 p.m. The family was at home on Carnes Road in Tiger.

Mr. Matthew Adam Hester, 23, of Clayton, passed away Oct. 18, 2016, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

A son of Betty Hester Head and the late Orville Fisher, he was born April 3, 1993, in Thomasville, North Carolina, having lived most his life in Stephens County. He lived the last three months in Clayton, where he was a manager and chef at the Sunday Diner Restaurant and a member of Safe Harbor Church of God. 

Survivors include his mother Betty Hester Head and step-father Donald Finley of Clayton, a brother, Jonathon Hester of Clayton, three step-sisters Angel Hazelwood of Trinity, North Carolina, Kayla Finley of Demorest, and Breanna Finley of Clayton, Fiancé Paige Rholetter and her son Anthony Rholetter of Alto, grandmother Ruth Hester of Toccoa and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home, with the Revs. Barry Looper and Mitchell Looper officiating. 

The family was at the home of Ann Shirley, 1554 Falls Road, Toccoa, and received friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. 

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Tyler Williams, Terry Scroggs, Josh Scroggs, Paul Craig, Joseph Howard, Tommy Carrell, Aaron Rutledge and Michael Hester.

Interment followed in Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Matthew Adam Hester.

Natale ‘Chubby’ Lioce

Natale “Chubby” Lioce, 87, of Clayton, passed away Oct. 22, 2016, at Mountain Lakes Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Chubby served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. 

He was a member of IBEW No. 3, and was a master electrician. He loved cooking, and woodworking and became a master of each. Chubby loved life, enjoyed people and he had a great personality. He was loved by all who knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sabino and Natalie Davi Lioce; one son, Jerry Lioce; one brother, Nicholas Lioce; and one sister, Antionette McClash.

Chubby is survived by his wife, Barbara Lioce of the home, two sons, Daniel Lioce (Karen), Paul Lioce (Myra); one daughter-in-law Kathy Lioce; four stepdaughters, Lisa Phillips (Scott), Katherine Taylor (Charles), Patricia Barrett, Maureen Ryan; one brother, Gabriel Lioce; three sisters, Diane Sutton, Angie Valente and Frances Brigandgo; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home today from 6-7 p.m.

Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home today at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Jeremy Lawson officiating. A committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, with military honors.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Paws 4 Life, 261 Boen Creek Road, Tiger, Georgia 30576 in memory of Natale “Chubby” Lioce.
