Ellie Ramey Henslee of Clayton, Ga., born August 28, 1936, joined her beloved husband of 34 years, Cecil, in Heaven on July 8, 2019 after an extended illness.
Born to Leo and Maebelle Wall Ramey, she was a retired cashier by trade.
Ellie was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother and was survived by children Billy Henslee and wife Lynda of Tiger, Ga.; Ann Moore and husband Larry of Clayton, Ga.; twin grandsons Jamey Henslee and wife Joy of Cedartown, Ga., and Ramey Henslee and wife Shannon of Asheville, N.C. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Henslee of Cedartown, as well as her unborn great-grandson, Oliver Saye Henslee of Asheville. Other survivors include step-grandchildren Tammy Cantrell and husband Jason of Bowden, Ga.; Danny Caldwell and Amanda of Carrollton, Ga.; and Cora Caldwell of Cumming, Ga.. Surviving step-great-grandchildren are Aiden Cantrell of Bowden; Cortland, Alex, Justice, Noah, and Leah Caldwell of Carrollton; Andrew and Arman Patel of Cumming. Her only living sibling, Jean Beck, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive Ellie.
Predeceasing Ellie, along with her parents and husband, were brothers Arnold Ramey, Howard Ramey, and Lloyd Ramey; sisters Christine Youngblood, and Blanche McCarthy.
Visitation will be held at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 pm., with the funeral service immediately thereafter by Rev. Madison McCracken. Interment will be at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, following the funeral hour.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hunter Funeral Home to assist family with expenses.
