Marcia “Speedo” Lynn Jones Ramey, 75, of Clayton, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016.
She was born May 29, 1941, in Mountain City and was the daughter of Guthrie Lee Roy Jones and Gertie Marie Dawkins Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Vaughn Ramey in 2006 and a brother, Bud Jones.
She is survived by a son, Chris Ramey; a daughter, Rebecca Epps (Todd); and a sister, Pat Mason. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Josh Epps, Chris Epps, and Chad Epps; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden Epps, Brayden Holder, and Blane Epps.
Marcia was a lifelong resident of Rabun County and was a faithful member of Battle Branch Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. For many years she raised Collie dogs. She loved her church family and all people.
The family received friends at Beck Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramey Family Cemetery.
