Samuel Woodrow Little Jr.

Samuel Woodrow Little Jr., 72, of Tallulah Falls, passed away Sept. 10, 2016, at his home.

Sam was born in Baldwin County and was the son of the late Samuel Woodrow Little Sr. and Edna Earle Loyd Little. He grew up in Milledgeville and attended Georgia Military College.

Sam served in the U.S. National Guard and worked in the retail clothing industry as owner of The Coventry Shop LTD in Milledgeville for the better part of 20 years. He later worked for the State of Georgia Department of Corrections, where he served as a counselor and group facilitator for more than 30 years. He was highly valued for his skills and wisdom in supporting both inmates and peers through counseling and team building.

Sam enjoyed his Native American heritage and earnestly studied its history, teachings and spiritual traditions. He cherished time with family and friends, and was known for being a lover of music and a lively storyteller.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Patti Polk Little; three sons, Robb Little (Kristen) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Scott Little (Julia) of Milledgeville, and Anson Link of Griffin. One daughter, Carlise Link of Tallulah Falls, one grandchild, Samuel James Little of Charlotte, North Carolina, two sisters, Barbara Little Duggan (John) of Tennille, and Faye Little of Milledgeville, as well as two nephews also survive.

A celebration of Sam’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Tallulah Falls United Methodist Church, 204 Church Street, Tallulah Falls, Georgia 30573. Visitation with the family to follow immediately after in fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Samuel Woodrow Little Jr. Memorial Fund c/o of Tallulah Falls Methodist Church, P.O. Box 100, Tallulah Falls, Georgia, 30573.
