Janet Ruth Ramey Turner, 75, of Wiley, passed away peacefully at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born Aug. 11, 1941, the daughter of the late Charlie Burch and Essie Elizabeth Page Ramey.
She was preceded in death by one sister Ophelia Turner, and four brothers, Hoyt Ramey, Johnny Ramey, Russell Ramey and Bobby Ramey.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Turner. She is also survived by one son, Delwyn Turner of Wiley, one daughter, Kenette Turner of Wiley, two brothers, Clifford Ramey of Clayton and Mike Ramey of Wiley, and one sister, Opal Ivester of Hull. Also surviving are one granddaughter, Sierra Vazquez-Turner and two grandsons, Creed Turner and Kaleb Turner.
Mrs. Turner was in the banking industry as an executive secretary at United Community Bank. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time working with flowers, doing crossword puzzles and enjoyed going shopping.
The family received friends on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Turner were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home, with the Revs. Madison McCrackin and Dennis Turner officiating. Interment followed in the Ramey Family Cemetery in Wiley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Children’s Health Care of Atlanta Foundation, 1577 NE Expressway, Suite A, Atlanta, Georgia, 30329.
Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, was in charge of the arrangements.
