Brenda Sue English Stancil, 68, of Clayton, journeyed to her heavenly home on Monday morning, May 2, 2016.
She was born June 16, 1947, the daughter of Ralis and Ola Crane English.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, William Doyle Stancil, and two sisters, Barbara English Young and Roberta English Wilson.
She is survived by one son, Trampes Stancil, one grandson, Trevon Stancil, a sister, Lynn English Ledford, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church and had worked for many years in the textile industry. Brenda was an avid gospel singer and had served as Bible School and Sunday School teacher in years past.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 4, at 5 p.m. at the Battle Branch Baptist Church, with Pastor Madison McCrackin and the Rev. Dennis Ledford officiating. Burial followed at the Persimmon Cemetery. Visitors were welcomed from 4-4:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
