Wanda Lorene McClain Ledford

Wanda Lorene McClain Ledford, 66, of Carnesville, passed away July 19, 2017.

She was born the daughter of the late Rev. Joe McClain and Ruby Taylor McClain in Clayton, where she lived until 1996.

She was a member of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. She was a loving wife to her husband, Billy Newton Ledford, and a loving mother and grandmother. In Wanda’s professional career, she worked as a seamstress in the textile industry. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, and making arts and crafts to decorate her home.

In addition to her husband, her survivors include her son, Brent Ledford, of Clayton; her daughter, Stephanie McKinney (Eric), of Canon; her brother, Matthew McClain (Renée), of Rabun Gap; three sisters, Linda Dills, Diane McCrackin (Madison) and Karen Talley, all of Clayton; one granddaughter, Brittany Franks (Joshua).

The family received friends on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton from 2:30–3:30 p.m.

A funeral service was held in the chapel of the Beck Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. on July 22, 2017, with the Revs. Marty Kilby and Madison McCrackin officiating.

A committal will follow the service with interment in the Joe McClain Cemetery.
