Flogene Long Smith, 81, wife of Wallace P. Smith, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2017.
Born in Clayton, she was the daughter of the late George Duncan and Martha Melinda Godfrey Long.
Mrs. Long retired from the Greenville County School System and was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church. She loved to sew and loved animals of all kinds.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Satterfield (Barry) of Fountain Inn; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Daniel of Cornelia, and brother, James A. Long “Mickey” of Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by sons, William P. Smith (Wendi) and Cary M. Smith; sister, Sally Forelines; and brother, Bill Long.
Visitation was held Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 11 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at Thomas Mcafee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service followed at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
