Betty Jo Smith Bennett, of Clayton passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Mountain View Nursing Facility.
Betty loved nature and liked to spend her time tending her beautiful flowers. She also was well known for her cooking, and loved to provide for family. She was a member of the Collins Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Susie Clark Smith and Otis C. Smith; her husband, William Carlton Bennett; and one daughter, Patricia Bennett.
She is survived by her sons, William Bennett of Clarksville, and Billy Bennett of Augusta; her daughter, Sara Arro of Homer; one step-daughter, Charlotte Godfrey of Gainesville; four sisters, Kathryn Parks of Gillsville, Barbara Minish of Maysville, Sue Cofield of Homer, Linda Parr of Seneca, South Carolina; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church. Burial service followed at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery.
