Charlotte Darnell Rodriguez

Charlotte Darnell Rodriguez, 85, formerly of Betty’s Creek Road in Rabun Gap, passed away Jan. 1, 2017. 

She was born in Rabun Gap, the daughter of the late Claude Darnell and Edith Burrell Darnell. 

Charlotte graduated from Rabun Nacoochee School. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, traveling, but her family was the most important thing to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Beulah Tanner, Frances Griffin, Sue Wright and Mary Lee Elgin.

She is survived by one son, Ricardo Rodriguez (Susan) of Cumming; one daughter, Terisa Quilliams-Bailey (Bill) of Danielsville; three sisters, Hazel Hurst of Franklin, North Carolina, Margaret Giles of Mt. Airy, and Claudia Scott of Clayton. Four grandchildren, Ryan Rodriguez, Andrew Quilliams, Heather Rodriguez and Aaron Rodriguez, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family received friends Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Beck Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. 

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Bailey officiating; burial followed in the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family has requested no flowers and in lieu of flowers, they are requesting that donations be made to local churches or a local charity of your choice.
