Carol Upchurch

Carol Upchurch, 70, of Clayton, passed away peacefully at her residence Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016. 

She was born Nov. 1, 1946, the daughter of the late William E. Sullivan and Mary Frances Still. One brother, William David Brown and one sister, Sandra Cox, also preceded Carol in death.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron Upchurch of the home; two sons, Justin (Whitney) Upchurch of Clayton, Todd (Shari) Upchurch of Lawrenceville; and one daughter, Casey Upchurch (Josh) Hickox of Tiger. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Riley Chlupacek, Georgia Hickox, Bailey Upchurch, Molly Upchurch, Bentley Upchurch, Danielle Brown, Joshua Upchurch, Elizabeth Upchurch, Caroline Upchurch, and two great-grandchildren, Hudson Stancil and Ella Brown.

Carol was a member of Tiger Baptist Church. She was a loving mother grandmother, great-grandmother and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed being a lifeguard and ran several pools in Gwinnett County. She also ran the pool at Kingwood. She was a member of Rabun Rescue for many years and served as the secretary.

The family received friends Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home. 

Graveside services will be Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at 1 p.m at Harvey Cemetery, with the Rev. Todd Upchurch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tiger Volunteer Fire Department in memory of Carol.
