Edgar Roy Watts

Edgar Roy Watts, 72, of Lakemont, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Rabun County and was the son of the late Roy Edgar Watts and Myrtice Cragg Watts.

Mr. Watts is survived by his loving wife, Frances McKay Watts, of the home; one son, Troy Watts (Shannon) of Quitman; one daughter, Tracy W. Gihl (Gene) of Tiger; one brother, Glenn Watts and one sister, Martha Queen (Jim), all of Tiger. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jordan Gihl and Laurel Watts.

Edgar was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather “poppy” to two very special granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed living in Rabun County, where he loved being outside farming the land or fishing the lakes. Edgar loved deeply and was deeply loved. He will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016, in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Rogers and Avery Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Larry Cannon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wolf Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 306, Wiley, Georgia, 30581.

Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, was in charge of the arrangements. An online memorial register book is available at www.beckfuneralhome.com.
